We examined the association of serum albumin concentration with diabetes mellitus and other cardiovascular risk factors, prevalent cardiovascular disease, and ultrasonographically assessed carotid artery intima-media thickness using data from 45- to 64-year-old adults in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study.
