Objective: The pathogenesis of stress ulceration in seriously ill patients is uncertain and the pathogenic role of Helicobacter pylori infection is unknown. We therefore assessed the seroprevalence of patients of a cardiosurgical intensive care unit (ICU) with clinically important stress ulcer bleeding.
