BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to test the disease-controlling effect of low-dose oral etoposide monotherapy in adult-onset multisystem Langerhans cell histiocytosis. There are no previous reports of low-dose etoposide monotherapy for this condition. OBSERVATIONS A 27-year-old man with a 7-year history of multifocal chronic Langerhans cell histiocytosis presented with severe disabling ulcers in intertriginous areas. He had previously been treated with 2 different regimens of…
Etoposide as a single agent in the treatment of mycosis fungoides: A retrospective analysis
TLDR
It is demonstrated that etoposide is an effective treatment for mycosis fungoides and may be considered in selected patients with progressive MF who have failed other treatments.
Treatment With Oral Etoposide for Childhood Recurrent Ependymomas
TLDR
It is emphasized that oral etoposide is an attractive option for childhood recurrent ependymomas in terms of administration, tolerability, and neuroradiologic response.

A case of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis with Multisystemic Involvement in an Adult Patient
TLDR
A case of LCH is presented in a 66-yearold woman with bone, skin, and pituitary gland involvement and it is emphasized that a patient with LCH should undergo careful multidisciplinary evaluation.
Widespread skin‐limited adult Langerhans cell histiocytosis: Long‐term follow‐up with good response to interferon alpha
TLDR
A case of widespread adult‐onset LCH confined to skin is reported in which topical carmustine, photochemotherapy, systemic steroids, and 2‐chlorodeoxyadenosine were only partially effective and longer remission was achieved by the use of subcutaneous interferon‐α2b.
Yetikin Langerhans Hücreli Histiyositoz ADULT LANGERHANS CELL HISTIOCYTOSIS: DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS
TLDR
This report presents a rare case of Langerhans cell histiocytosis in a 32 years-old-woman who developed symptomatic diabetes insipidus and multiple bone and cranial metastases during the dis ease course.

Successful Treatment of Multisystem Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (Histiocytosis X) with Etoposide
TLDR
Etoposide (VP-16), an epipodophyllotoxin known for its usefulness in the treatment of malignancies of the monocyte/macrophage lineage, appears to be an effective treatment for the severe multisystem (disseminated) LCH of childhood and should be strongly considered as front-line therapy for this subgroup of patients with poor prognostic factors.
Treatment strategy for disseminated Langerhans cell histiocytosis. DAL HX-83 Study Group.
TLDR
The shorter duration of active disease, low rate of recurrence and permanent consequences, and improved survival among patients with poor prognosis support the strategy of rapid initiation of a predefined prolonged treatment upon the diagnosis of disseminated LCH.

Treatment of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis in Children with Etoposide
TLDR
Chemotherapy with etoposide appears to be effective and safe for the treatment of children with systemic LCH and 6 patients have been in complete remission for 3 to 36 months without any side effects.
Langerhans‐cell histiocytosis—excellent response to etoposide
TLDR
An adult with progressive LCH who received oral etoposide as primary treatment is described and the strategical implications of this drug in Langerhans‐cell histiocytosis discussed.
Future directions for etoposide therapy.
TLDR
Observations indicate that etoposide may be a "new drug" when given in the chronic schedule, and the possibility of adding topoisomerase I inhibitors and modulating etopOSide's activity by inhibiting drug resistance is now within the realm of human testing.

TLDR
Chronic low doses of etoposide may be superior to the standard dose and schedule and further study of this issue is warranted.
A case of malignant histiocytosis successfully treated with combination interferon and etoposide therapy.
TLDR
The present case report discusses the successful use of combination gamma interferon and etoposide for the treatment of malignant histiocytosis and the patient remains in complete remission after two years.
