This paper presents results on the effect of a single session of hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) therapy on prevalence zone of ischemia and myocardial necrosis in experimental animals. Compared with "high-doses" of HBO therapy, application of the so-called "small" doses (oxygen pressure at 0.02 MPa) was more favorable. The results of this study suggest the effectiveness of HBO in irreversible obstruction of coronary arteries, as well as more efficient use of HBO in the "low-dose".
Influence of hyperbaric oxygenation treatment (HBOT) on clinical outcomes (recurrent myocardial infarction and survival rate) during five-year monitoring period after acute myocardial infarction
TLDR
HBOT application that accompanied the acute MI with traditional pharmacotherapy has been proved to reduce rMI within five years following inpatient discharge.

HYPERBARIC OXYGENATION APPLIED IMMEDIATELY AFTER CORONARY OCCLUSION REDUCES MYOCARDIAL NECROSIS AND ACUTE MORTALITY IN RATS
TLDR
Early therapy with HBO during the onset of an acute ischaemic event decreases the necrotic area and reduces acute mortality, and these data support further investigation of HBO as an adjuvant therapy for acute MI.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Limits Infarct Size in Ischemic Rabbit Myocardium In Vivo
TLDR
The ability of increased oxygen pressure to modify necrosis in an open-chest rabbit model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion is explored and it is concluded that hyperbaric oxygen limits infarct size in the reperfused rabbit heart and that the effect can be achieved when hyper baric oxygen is begun at reperfusions.
PHYSIOLOGIC EFFECTS OF HYPERBARIC OXYGEN ON ISCHEMIA-REPERFUSION PHENOMENONachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto in Hyperbaric Physiology
TLDR
Clinical and research evidence demonstrated that hyperbaric oxygen could be effective to reduce or stop ischemia-reperfusion related injury.
Hyperbaric oxygenation pretreatment induces catalase and reduces infarct size in ischemic rat myocardium
TLDR
HBO pretreatment was found to condition the heart and enhance enzymatic activity and gene expression of catalase, thereby significantly reducing infarct size after reperfusion, implying that HBO preconditioning may be developed as a new preventive measure for reperfusions injury in the heart.
A new technique of coronary artery ligation: Experimental myocardial infarction in rats in vivo with reduced mortality
TLDR
It is demonstrated that a reduction in early mortality and an increased success rate of myocardial infarction can be achieved by modifications of surgical techniques.
A new technique of coronary artery ligation: Experimental myocardial infarction in rats in vivo with reduced mortality
TLDR
It is demonstrated that a reduction in early mortality and an increased success rate of myocardial infarction can be achieved by modifications of surgical techniques.
Erythropoietin and Renal Ischemic Reperfusion
TLDR
The aims of the present study were to evaluate the effects of EPO on renal ischemia/reperfusion injury and to suggest that the attendance of precursor in the blood, cause improvement in the harmed endothelial regeneration power.
Cardioprotective effects of desflurane: effect of timing and duration of administration in rat myocardium.
TLDR
In rats, desflurane 1 MAC significantly decreased myocardial infarct size whatever the period and duration of administration.
Pathogenesis and protection of ischemia and reperfusion injury in myocardium.
TLDR
It is reported that hyperglycemia was a promoting factor of ischemic heart injury in diabetic animals and Ischemic preconditioning is a useful phenomenon that limits myocardial damage.
