We investigate some properties of n( ≥ 4)-dimensional spacetimes having symmetries corresponding to the isometries of an (n − 2)-dimensional maximally symmetric space in Lovelock gravity under the null or dominant energy condition. The well-posedness of the generalized Misner–Sharp quasi-local mass proposed in the past study is shown. Using this quasi-local mass, we clarify the basic properties of the dynamical black holes defined by a future outer trapping horizon under certain assumptions on… Expand
New solutions of exotic charged black holes and their stability
We find a class of charged black hole solutions in third-order Lovelock Gravity. To obtain this class of solutions, we are not confined to the usual assumption of maximal symmetry on the horizon andExpand
A Lovelock black hole bestiary
We revisit the study of (A)dS black holes in Lovelock theories. We present a new tool that allows to attack this problem in full generality. In analyzing maximally symmetric Lovelock black holes withExpand
Mass and Free Energy of Lovelock Black Holes
An explicit formula for the ADM mass of an asymptotically AdS black hole in a generic Lovelock gravity theory is presented, identical in form to that in Einstein gravity, but multiplied by a functionExpand
Modelling the evaporation of nonsingular black holes
We present a model for studying the formation and evaporation of non-singular (quantum corrected) black holes. The model is based on a generalized form of the dimensionally reduced, sphericallyExpand
Universal black holes
We prove that a generalized Schwarzschild-like ansatz can be consistently employed to construct d -dimensional static vacuum black hole solutions in any metric theory of gravity for which theExpand
Black Hole Formation in Lovelock Gravity
We first derive the Hamiltonian for Lovelock gravity and find that it takes the same form as in general relativity when written in terms of the Misner-Sharp mass function. We then minimally coupleExpand
Throat quantization of the Schwarzschild–Tangherlini(-AdS) black hole
Adopting the throat quantization pioneered by Louko and Makela, we derive the mass and area spectra for the Schwarzschild–Tangherlini black hole and its anti-de Sitter (AdS) generalization inExpand
Two Aspects of Black hole entropy in Lanczos-Lovelock models of gravity
We consider two specific approaches to evaluate the black hole entropy which are known to produce correct results in the case of Einstein’s theory and generalize them to Lanczos-Lovelock models. InExpand
Lovelock vacua with a recurrent null vector field
Vacuum solutions of Lovelock gravity in the presence of a recurrent null vector field (a subset of Kundt spacetimes) are studied. We first discuss the general field equations, which constrain bothExpand
Universality of P − V criticality in horizon thermodynamics
A bstractWe study P − V criticality of black holes in Lovelock gravities in the context of horizon thermodynamics. The corresponding first law of horizon thermodynamics emerges as one of theExpand

We explore various aspects of dynamical black holes defined by a future outer trapping horizon in n(≥5)-dimensional Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet gravity. In the present paper, we assume that the spacetimeExpand
Thermodynamics of asymptotically flat charged black holes in third order Lovelock gravity

A Note on Thermodynamics of Black Holes in Lovelock Gravity
Abstract The Lovelock gravity consists of the dimensionally extended Euler densities. The geometry and horizon structure of black hole solutions could be quite complicated in this gravity, however,Expand
Gravitational solitons and C0 vacuum metrics in five-dimensional Lovelock gravity

Lovelock-Lifshitz black holes
In this paper, we investigate the existence of Lifshitz solutions in Lovelock gravity, both in vacuum and in the presence of a massive vector field. We show that the Lovelock terms can support theExpand

Dimensionally continued black holes.
TLDR
Static, spherically symmetric solutions of the field equations for a particular dimensional continuation of general relativity with negative cosmological constant are studied and the causal structure is analyzed and the Penrose diagrams are exhibited. Expand

The Lovelock Black Holes
