OBJECTIVE To summarize published studies analyzing the effects of long-term change in body weight on all-cause mortality and have not been reported elsewhere in these proceedings. DATA SOURCES Thirteen reports from 11 diverse population studies, 7 from the United States and 4 from Europe. STUDY SELECTION All studies included a weight change period of 4 or more years, followed by a mortality assessment period of 8 or more years.
