Over a period of 9 years a grazing experiment was carried out in the mainland salt marsh of the Leybucht (Niedersachsen) with three stocking rates, namely, 0.5 ha-1, 1 ha-1, and 2 cattle ha-1. These were also compared with an abandoned area. The results are based on sampling of the invertebrates in 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1988, and of the vegetation in 1980 and 1988. The rate of sedimentation is highest in the Puccinellia maritima-zone and decreases with the increase of stocking rates. The Elymus…
Secondary succession on a high salt marsh at different grazing intensities
Succession occurs on a large part of German salt marshes following abandonment or reduction of grazing. Its speed and effect on the biodiversity of salt marshes has been discussed in the literature.
Short-term impact of grazing by sheep on vegetation dynamics in a newly created saltmarsh site
The effects of grazing by sheep at a stocking density of c. 1 sheep ha from August to April on total vegetation cover, diversity of plant species, above-ground plant biomass and concentration of
Short‐term impact of grazing by sheep on vegetation dynamics in a newly created salt‐marsh site
TLDR
Grazing had no apparent effect on total vegetation cover and composition of the vegetation, and expansion of the dominant species of the high zone, E. athericus, was not affected by the stocking density used in the study.
Long-Term Effects of Sheep Grazing in Various Densities on Marsh Properties and Vegetation Dynamics in Two Different Salt-Marsh Zones
For conservation management of grassland ecosystems, an important question is under which conditions large grazers induce compositional and structural variation in plant communities, which is a
Long‐term vegetation changes in experimentally grazed and ungrazed back‐barrier marshes in the Wadden Sea
Abstract Vegetation succession in three back‐barrier salt marshes in the Wadden Sea was studied using a data set comprising 25 years of vegetation development recorded at permanent quadrats. The
Vegetation change in a man‐made salt marsh affected by a reduction in both grazing and drainage
In order to restore natural salt marsh in a 460-ha nature reserve established in man-made salt marsh in the Dollard estuary, The Netherlands, the artificial drainage system was neglected and cattle

The effects of grazing and abandonment in salt marshes on breeding bird diversity have been a perennial issue in Germany’s Schleswig‐Holstein Wadden Sea National Park during the last 25 years. When
Structure of the invertebrate fauna in salt marshes of the Wadden Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein influenced by sheep-grazing
TLDR
The biomass and abundance of detritivores and many herbivores increased from 1990 to 1991 on the totally grazed fields, whereas predators diminished in numbers at the same time.
The influence of rainfall variability on the species composition of a northern California salt marsh plant assemblage
Natural variability in the species composition of salt marsh plant assemblage was studied for 4 years (1986–90) at Bolinas Lagoon, California (USA). The study was conducted during a period in which

In this final installment of the paper we consider the case where the signals or the messages or both are continuously variable, in contrast with the discrete nature assumed until now. To a

It is proved that the authors can get some positive data rate that has the same small error probability and also there is an upper bound of the data rate, which means they cannot achieve the data rates with any encoding scheme that has small enough error probability over the upper bound.
Nature Management by Grazing and Cutting
TLDR
The Drenthe Plateau, the Schiermonnikoog salt marsh, and the heathland and reclaimed grassland vegetation create species-richer plant communities: three cases of restoration management.
