Aims Short-term studies have reported left ventricular (LV) dilatation following surgical creation of arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) or arteriovenous grafts (AVGs), but chronic cardiac structural and functional changes have not been examined or related to clinical outcomes following AVF/AVG.
