Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects a vulnerable sub-population of individuals exposed to a traumatic event. This psychopathology induces long-lasting hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis hypoactivity, hyperarousal and avoidance of trauma-like situation.
