It has been established that locomotor activity in Ca/llphora v/c/na is controlled by a circadian system comprising several oscillating elements which free-run with a combined period of 23.14 hours. During entrainment these oscillators are thought to be 'pulled' into two groups, one phase-set by the dawn and the other by the dusk.
