Survivors have related their concentration-camp experience both in the form of novels and reports. The authentic report has been favoured by the overall majority who express some anguish over the viability of fiction for presenting their memory. They feel that, as first-hand witnesses to the crimes of the Nazi regime, they cannot afford to resort to fiction in relating these experiences.
