OBJECTIVES Dental follicle cells (DFCs) as periodontal precursor cells are the natural source for cellular therapies of periodontitis. Periodontitis is initiated after the infection of the periodontium with oral pathogens such as the Gram-negative bacteria Porphyromonas gingivalis.
