OBJECTIVES Our goal was to examine the role of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in lipolysis regulation in heart failure (HF) patients. BACKGROUND Enhanced adipose tissue lipolysis can contribute to myocardial lipid overload, insulin resistance, and cachexia in advanced HF.
