Lipid peroxidation is one of the several physiological mechanisms of the organism by which reactive oxygen species (ROS) may be released which is toxic to cells and tissues. In general, the formation of lipid peroxidation products in tissues may infer the extent of oxidative damage and decline in anti-oxidant defense mechanism.
