Sterol Composition and Ecdysteroid Content of Eggs of the Root-knot Nematodes Meloidogyne incognita and M. arenaria.
- Biology, MedicineJournal of nematology
- 1987
The three Meloidogyne races could not be distinguished from each other by their egg sterols, and compounds with hormonal function in insects, were not detected by radioimmunoassay in the Meloidsogyne eggs either as free ecdysteroids or as polar conjugates.
Fatty acid composition and dynamics of selected fungal-feeding nematodes and fungi
- 2001
Although 20 only present in the nematodes, C PLFAs were only detected when nematode population levels were 22 per gram of 20 sand, suggesting that there is a detection threshold that might limit their use as biomarkers in the soil community.
The lipid content and fatty acid composition of hatched second stage juveniles of Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida
- Biology
- 1997
The two species showed similar fatty acid profiles and Globodera roslOchlensis J2, which had hatched over 24 h periods during the first 2 weeks exposure to potato root diffusate, had the same fatty acid composition as those which hatched over 96 h periods in weeks 3 and 4.
Effects of Temperature and Dietary Lipids on Phospholipid Fatty Acids and Membrane Fluidity in Ste inernema carpocapsae 1
- Biology
- 2001
The results indicate that nematode membrane physical state can be modified dietarily, possibly to the benefit of host-finding or survival of S. carpocapsae at low temperatures.

Enrichment of the nematode Panagrolaimus sp., a potential live food for marine aquaculture, with essential n-3 fatty acids
- BiologyAquaculture International
- 2013
The nematode Panagrolaimus sp. (strain NFS-24-5) may have potential as a live food organism for larvae of several marine species. It can be mass-produced in liquid culture and is desiccation tolerant…

Lipid Composition of Cyst Stages of Globodera rostochiensis.
- Biology, MedicineJournal of nematology
- 1995
The lipid profile of all three cyst stages is consistent with invertebrate adaptation to low-temperature environments and shows greater changes than other classes of lipids relative to cyst stage.
