Lipase and esterase formation by psychrophilic and mesophilic Acinetobacter species.

Acinetobacter O16, a psychrophilic species, produced extracellular lipase (measured by hydrolysis of olive oil, tributyrin, or beta-naphthyl laurate) when grown on a complex medium (peptone plus yeast extract).
