We provide a condition on the links of polygonal complexes that is sufficient to ensure groups acting properly discontinuously and cocompactly on such complexes contain a virtually free codimension-1 subgroup. We provide stronger conditions on the links of polygonal complexes, which are sufficient to ensure groups acting properly discontinuously and cocompactly on such complexes act properly discontinuously on a CAT(0) cube complex. If the group is hyperbolic then this action is also cocompact…

Link Conditions for the Haagerup Property
We provide a condition on the links of a polygonal complex X that is sufficient to ensure Aut(X) has the Haagerup property, and hence so do any closed subgroups of Aut(X) (in particular, any group

Cohomology of buildings and of their automorphism groups
Buildings were created by Tits. They serve as a vehicle for understanding real semi-simple groups and their p-adic analogs. These are undoubtedly the two most interesting cases, but existing
The virtual Haken conjecture
We prove that cubulated hyperbolic groups are virtually special. The proof relies on results of Haglund and Wise which also imply that they are linear groups, and quasi-convex subgroups are
A census of semisymmetric cubic graphs on up to 768 vertices
A list is given of all semisymmetric (edge- but not vertex-transitive) connected finite cubic graphs of order up to 768. This list was determined by the authors using Goldschmidt's classification of
Spaces with measured walls, the Haagerup property and property (T)
We introduce the notion of a space with measured walls, generalizing the concept of a space with walls due to Haglund and Paulin (Simplicité de groupes d'automorphismes d'espaces à courbure négative.
Special Cube Complexes
Abstract. We introduce and examine a special class of cube complexes. We show that special cube-complexes virtually admit local isometries to the standard 2-complexes of naturally associated
Generalized triangle groups
A group G is called a triangle group if it can be presented in the form It is well-known that G is isomorphic to a subgroup of PSL2(ℂ), that a is of order l, b is of order m and ab is of order n. If
Cubulating small cancellation groups
AbstractWe study the B(6) and B(4)-T(4) small cancellation groups. These classes include the usual C’(1/6) and C’(1/4)-T(4) metric small cancellation groups. We show that every finitely presented
Groups acting on CAT(0) cube complexes
We show that groups satisfying Kazhdan's property (T) have no unbounded actions on finite dimensional CAT(0) cube complexes, and deduce that there is a locally CAT(-1) Riemannian manifold which is
Groups acting on cubes and Kazhdan’s property (T)
We show that a group G contains a subgroup K with e(G,K) > 1 if and only if it admits an action on a connected cube that is transitive on the hyperplanes and has no fixed point. As a corollary we
