This study introduces, analyses and implements space-time discretizations of two-dimensional active dissipative partial differential equations such as the Topper-Kawahara equation; this is the two-dimensional extension of the dispersively modified Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation found in falling film hydro-dynamics.
