We show that the quantum uncertainty principle puts some limits on the effectiveness of the antinucleon-nucleus annihilation at very low energies. This is caused by the fact that a very effective short-distance reaction process implies information on the relative distance of the reacting particles. Some quantitative predictions are possible on this ground, including the approximate A-independence of -nucleus annihilation rates.

General limits on the effectiveness of some hadronic processes at low energy
On the basis of the quantum uncertainty principle, we discuss some properties, which have been measured in antinucleon reactions, and which are here supposed to be peculiar of a wider class of
Deterministic scale-free networks
This work proposes a simple model that generates scale-free networks in a deterministic fashion, and solves exactly the model, showing that the tail of the degree distribution follows a power law.

Coulomb corrections to low energy antiproton annihilation cross sections on protons and nuclei
We calculate, in a systematic way, the enhancement effect on antiproton-proton and antiproton-nucleus annihilation cross sections at low energy due to the initial state electrostatic interaction
A phenomenological analysis of antiproton interactions at low energies
Abstract We present an optical potential analysis of p p interactions at low energies. The optical potential is purely phenomenological, and has been parametrized using data recently obtained by the
Antiproton annihilation on light nuclei at very low energies
Abstract: Recent experimental data obtained by the OBELIX collaboration on ¯pD and ¯p4 He total annihilation cross sections are analyzed. The combined analysis of these data with existing
The physics of nucleon-antinucleon annihilation
Abstract The nucleon-antinucleon (NN) annihilation process provides a fertile testing ground for microscopic hadron exchange and/or quark models. We review a variety of such approaches here,
