Multicolor karyotyping technologies, such as spectral karyotyping (SKY) (Schröck et al.1996; Liyanage et al. 1996) and multiplex (M-) FISH (Speicher et al. 1996), have proved to be extremely useful in prenatal, postnatal, and cancer cytogenetics.
