A regional prevalence group of 106 patients with Crohn's disease were interviewed about their familial, social, and professional conditions. The results were compared with results from similar interviews of an age and sex matched control group of 75 previously healthy patients admitted to the hospital for acute diseases of less than 28 days' duration.
