Leptogenesis is a class of scenarios in which the cosmic baryon asymmetry originates from an initial lepton asymmetry generated in the decays of heavy sterile neutrinos in the early Universe. We explain why leptogenesis is an appealing mechanism for baryogenesis. We review its motivations and the basic ingredients and describe subclasses of effects, like those of lepton flavours, spectator processes, scatterings, finite temperature corrections, the role of the heavier sterile neutrinos, and…

### Effective Field Theories for Heavy Majorana Neutrinos in a Thermal Bath

In the leptogenesis framework Majorana neutrinos are at the origin of the baryon asymmetry in the universe. We develop an effective field theory for non-relativistic Majorana fermions and we apply it

In order to address the baryon asymmetry in the Universe one needs to understand the origin of baryon (B) and lepton (L) number violation. In this article, we discuss the mechanism of baryogenesis

A bstractIn a model where Majorana neutrinos heavier than the electroweak scale couple to Standard Model Higgs bosons and leptons, we compute systematically thermal corrections to the direct and

### Scalar triplet flavored leptogenesis: a systematic approach

• Physics

Type-II seesaw is a simple scenario in which Majorana neutrino masses are generated by the exchange of a heavy scalar electroweak triplet. When endowed with additional heavy fields, such as

Abstract. We perform an analysis of leptogenesis in the context of a simple extension of the Standard Model by two fermions; one charged (χ) and one neutral (ψ), in addition to three right-handed

### Leptogenesis constraints on B − L breaking Higgs boson in TeV scale seesaw models

• Physics

A bstractIn the type-I seesaw mechanism for neutrino masses, there exists a B − L symmetry, whose breaking leads to the lepton number violating mass of the heavy Majorana neutrinos. This would imply

The f ( T ) cosmology, where T is the torsion field, is considered, which constrain the parameters space of these cosmological models consistently with thermal Leptogenesis scenario (with degenerate mass spectrum of light neutrinos), and it is shown that they allow to solve the gravitino problem.

We propose a new mechanism of leptogenesis in which the asymmetries in lepton numbers are produced through the $\mathrm{CP}$-violating oscillations of sterile'' (electroweak singlet) neutrinos. The

This model clearly demonstrates that, contrary to conventional wisdom, neutrinos need not be Majorana in nature in order to help explain the baryon asymmetry of the universe.

### The little review on leptogenesis

This is a brief review on the scenario of baryogenesis through leptogenesis. Leptogenesis is an appealing scenario that may relate the observed baryon asymmetry in the Universe to the low-energy
