A new poroid wood-inhabiting fungal genus, Leifiporia, is proposed, based on morphological and molecular evidence, which is typified by L. rhizomorpha sp. nov. The genus is characterized by an annual growth habit, resupinate basidiocarps with white to cream pore surface, a dimitic hyphal system with generative hyphae bearing clamp connections and branching mostly at right angles, skeletal hyphae present in the subiculum only and distinctly thinner than generative hyphae, IKI–, CB–, and…

Species diversity, taxonomy and phylogeny of Polyporaceae (Basidiomycota) in China

This monograph provides a revised classification of Polyporaceae in China according to the modern taxonomy and describes twelve new species, two new genera and six new combinations, which are proposed based on the Chinese collections.

Notes, outline and divergence times of Basidiomycota

Divergence times as additional criterion in ranking provide additional evidence to resolve taxonomic problems in the Basidiomycota taxonomic system, and also provide a better understanding of their phylogeny and evolution.

Flammeopellis bambusicola gen. et. sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

The morphological and molecular evidence confirmed the placement of the new genus in the core polyporoid clade and established its relationships with similar genera.

Fragiliporiaceae, a new family of Polyporales (Basidiomycota)

Fragiliporiaceae fam. nov., a new poroid wood-inhabiting family, is introduced based on the combination of molecular and morphological data, and is typified by Fragiliporia gen. nov. The phylogenetic

Taxonomic study of Favolus and Neofavolus gen. nov. segregated from Polyporus (Basidiomycota, Polyporales)

Phylogenetic analyses of nurLSU and ITS regions revealed that the infrageneric ‘group Favolus’ is divided into two main clades, which include members of the Polyporus grammocephalus complex, the P. tenuiculus complex, and P. alveolaris.

Obba and Sebipora, new polypore genera related to Cinereomyces and Gelatoporia (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

Two new genera are described in the Cinereomyces clade: Obba to incorporate C. rivulosa and a new austral species, Obba valdiviana, known from southern Argentina and recorded here also from Tasmania, and Sebipora to accommodate a new species from tropical Asia, S. aquosa.

Global diversity and molecular systematics of Wrightoporia s.l. (Russulales, Basidiomycota)

According to phylogenetic and morphological evidence, species previously treated in Wrightoporia were transferred to Amylonotus, Amylosporus and the new genera, or were retained as members of Wrightopori s.l.

Phlebiporia bubalina gen. et. sp. nov. (Meruliaceae, Polyporales) from southwest China with a preliminary phylogeny based on rDNA sequences

A new genus, Phlebiporia, is proposed, based on morphological characters and molecular data. It is typified by P. bubalina sp. nov., characterized by an annual growth habit, resupinate basidiomata, a

Global diversity and taxonomy of the Inonotus linteus complex (Hymenochaetales, Basidiomycota): Sanghuangporus gen. nov., Tropicoporus excentrodendri and T. guanacastensis gen. et spp. nov., and 17 new combinations

Morphological and phylogenetic evidence indicates that Clades B and C are new genera, and Sanghuangporus and Tropicoporus are introduced in this study, which indicates that Inonotus is a polyphyletic genus comprising at least three clades.

Bjerkandera in the Neotropics: phylogenetic and morphological relations of Tyromyces atroalbus and description of a new species

The results revealed that the specimens from Brazil and Mexico represent two distinct species, and the new combination Bjerkandera atroalba and description of new species B. centroamericana is published.

Perenniporiella chaquenia sp. nov. and further notes on Perenniporiella and its relationships with Perenniporia (Poriales, Basidiomycota)

Perenniporiella chaquenia sp. nov. is described from Argentina. New records of P. pendula and P. micropora are discussed. A key to Perenniporiella species is presented. Preliminary phylogenetic

Two new Fomitopsis species from southern China based on morphological and molecular characters

Phylogenetic analysis based on combined ITS and nLSU sequences suggest that the two new species belong in the Fomitopsis sensu stricto group within the Antrodia clade.
