  • This paper details the experiences of a programmer in first learning about and coding in the ANS MUMPS language. While first reactions ranged from neutral to mildly negative, within a month these attitudes had substantially changed. The language was found to be easy to learn, exceptionally powerful, and executed as fast as compiled languages in an interactive environment.
