Layered metal phosphonate, zinc phenylphosphonate (PPZn), reinforced poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) composites were fabricated by a melt-mixing technique. The nonisothermal and isothermal crystallization, melting behavior, spherulite morphology, crystalline structure, and static and dynamic mechanical properties of the PLLA/PPZn composites were investigated.
