If light scalar fields are present at the end of inflation, their non-equilibrium dynamics such as parametric resonance or a phase transition can produce non-Gaussian density perturbations. We show how these perturbations can be calculated using non-linear lattice field theory simulations and the separate universe approximation. In the massless preheating model, we find that some parameter values are excluded while others lead to acceptable but observable levels of non-Gaussianity. This shows… Expand

Non-Gaussianity from massless preheating
Preheating can convert superhorizon fluctuations of light scalar fields present at the end of inflation into observable density perturbations. We show in detail how lattice field theory simulationsExpand
Non-Gaussianity from the hybrid potential
We study the hybrid inflationary potential in a regime where the defect field is light, and more than 60 e-folds of accelerated expansion occur after the symmetry breaking transition. Using analyticExpand
Parametric Resonance of Entropy Perturbations in Massless Preheating
Here, we revisit the question of possible preheating of entropy modes in a two field model with a massless inflaton coupled to a matter scalar field. Using a perturbative approximation to theExpand
Non-Gaussianity from resonant curvaton decay
We calculate curvature perturbations in the scenario in which the curvaton field decays into another scalar field via parametric resonance. As a result of a nonlinear stage at the end of theExpand
Primordial Non-Gaussianities from Inflation Models
This is a pedagogical review on primordial non-Gaussianities from inflation models. We introduce formalisms and techniques that are used to compute such quantities. We review different mechanismsExpand
Predictions for non-Gaussianity from non-local inflation
In our previous work the non-linearity parameter fNL, which characterizes non-Gaussianity in the cosmic microwave background, was estimated for a class of inflationary models based on non-local fieldExpand
Nonperturbative Dynamics Of Reheating After Inflation: A Review
Our understanding of the state of the universe between the end of inflation and big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) is incomplete. The dynamics at the end of inflation are rich and a potential source ofExpand
Anisotropies in the gravitational wave background from preheating.
If future direct detection GW experiments are capable of detecting the GW produced by preheating, they should also be able to detect this effect, which could eventually provide a powerful way to distinguish between different inflationary and pre heating scenarios. Expand
Anisotropic Gravitational Wave Background from Massless Preheating
Reheating is one of the least understood periods in the early universe. While nearly all the elementary particles we observe must have been produced during this period, we still do not know for sureExpand
Primordial curvature perturbation from lattice simulations
We study the contribution to the primordial curvature perturbation on observational scales generated by the reheating field in massless preheating. To do so we use lattice simulations and a recentExpand
