We study the resonant decay of the primordial Standard Model Higgs condensate after inflation into $SU(2)$ gauge bosons on the lattice. We find that the non-Abelian interactions between the gauge bosons quickly extend the momentum distribution towards high values, efficiently destroying the condensate after the onset of backreaction. For the inflationary scale $H = 10^8$ GeV, we find that 90% of the Higgs condensate has decayed after $n \sim 10$ oscillation cycles. This differs significantly…

Combined Preheating on the lattice with applications to Higgs inflation
We use classical lattice simulations in 3+1 dimensions to study the interplay between the resonant production of particles during preheating and the subsequent decay of these into a set of secondary
Early Universe Higgs dynamics in the presence of the Higgs-inflaton and non-minimal Higgs-gravity couplings
Apparent metastability of the electroweak vacuum poses a number of cosmological questions. These concern evolution of the Higgs field to the current vacuum, and its stability during and after
Cosmological Aspects of Higgs Vacuum Metastability
The current central experimental values of the parameters of the Standard Model give rise to a striking conclusion: metastability of the electroweak vacuum is favoured over absolute stability. A
Higgs field-curvature coupling and postinflationary vacuum instability
We study the post-inflationary dynamics of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs field in the presence of a non-minimal coupling $\xi|\Phi|^2R$ to gravity, both with and without the electroweak gauge fields
Do metric fluctuations affect the Higgs dynamics during inflation
We show that the dynamics of the Higgs field during inflation is not affected by metric fluctuations if the Higgs is an energetically subdominant light spectator. For Standard Model parameters we
Preheating after Higgs inflation: Self-resonance and gauge boson production
We perform an extensive analysis of linear fluctuations during preheating in Higgs inflation in the Einstein frame, where the fields are minimally coupled to gravity, but the field-space metric is
Postinflationary vacuum instability and Higgs-inflaton couplings
The Higgs-inflaton coupling plays an important role in the Higgs field dynamics in the early Universe. Even a tiny coupling generated at loop level can have a dramatic effect on the fate of the
Fate of Electroweak Vacuum during Preheating
Our electroweak vacuum may be metastable in light of the current experimental data of the Higgs/top quark mass. If this is really the case, high-scale inflation models require a stabilization
Postinflationary vacuum instability and Higgs-inflaton couplings
The Higgs-inflaton coupling plays an important role in the Higgs field dynamics in the early Universe. Even a tiny coupling generated at loop level can have a dramatic effect on the fate of the
Higgs inflation and vacuum stability
Inflation is nowadays a well-established paradigm consistent with all the observations. The precise nature of the inflaton is however unknown and its role could be played by any candidate able to

Non-Abelian dynamics in the resonant decay of the Higgs after inflation
We study the resonant decay of the Higgs condensate into weak gauge bosons after inflation and estimate the corrections arising from the non-Abelian self-interactions of the gauge fields. We find
Investigating the near-criticality of the Higgs boson
A bstractWe extract from data the parameters of the Higgs potential, the top Yukawa coupling and the electroweak gauge couplings with full 2-loop NNLO precision, and we extrapolate the SM parameters
Can the standard model Higgs boson seed the formation of structures in our Universe
We study the standard model Higgs field as a source for the primordial curvature perturbation, particularly in the curvaton and modulated reheating scenario. We conclude that the Higgs cannot play as
The cosmological Higgstory of the vacuum instability
A bstractThe Standard Model Higgs potential becomes unstable at large field values. After clarifying the issue of gauge dependence of the effective potential, we study the cosmological evolution of
Generation of the Higgs condensate and its decay after inflation
We investigate the dynamics of the Standard Model higgs with a minimal coupling to gravity during and after inflation. In the regime where the Standard Model vacuum is stable, we find that the higgs
Preheating in the standard model with the Higgs inflaton coupled to gravity
We study the details of preheating in an inflationary scenario in which the standard model Higgs, strongly nonminimally coupled to gravity, plays the role of the inflaton. We find that the Universe
The Higgs vacuum is unstable
So far, the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have shown no sign of new physics beyond the Standard Model. Assuming the Standard Model is correct at presently available energies, we can
W and Higgs particle distributions during electroweak tachyonic preheating
We study out-of-equilibrium quasi-particle distributions of the Higgs and W fields during the zero-temperature tachyonic electroweak transition that has been assumed in recent scenarios of
Higgs mass and vacuum stability in the Standard Model at NNLO
A bstractWe present the first complete next-to-next-to-leading order analysis of the Standard Model Higgs potential. We computed the two-loop QCD and Yukawa corrections to the relation between the
Higgs inflation: consistency and generalisations
We analyse the self-consistency of inflation in the Standard Model, where the Higgs field has a large non-minimal coupling to gravity. We determine the domain of energies in which this model
