A lattice Boltzmann model is developed which has the ability to simulate flows containing multiple phases and components. Each of the components can be immiscible with the others and can have different mass values. The equilibrium state of each component can have a nonideal gas equation of state at a prescribed temperature exhibiting thermodynamic phase transitions. The scheme incorporated in this model is the introduction of an interparticle potential. The dynamical rules in this model are…

Lattice Boltzmann Algorithm for Simulating Thermal Flow in Compressible Fluids
An algorithm has been developed for incorporating the effects of temperature into lattice Boltzmann simulations. Instead of modeling the internal energy as a moment of the distribution describing the
Lattice Boltzmann Simulation of Two-Fluid Model Equations
An implicit lattice Boltzmann equation to simulate the locally averaged flow behavior of disperse two-phase mixtures is presented. Using a multiscale expansion technique, it is shown that these
Equations of state in a lattice Boltzmann model
In this paper we consider the incorporation of various equations of state into the single-component multiphase lattice Boltzmann model. Several cubic equations of state, including the van der Waals,
Multicomponent lattice-Boltzmann model with interparticle interaction
A lattice Boltzmann model for simulating fluids with multiple components and interparticle forces proposed by Shan and Chen is described in detail. Macroscopic equations governing the motion of each
Lattice Boltzmann Simulations for Thermal Vapor-Liquid Two-Phase Flows
Lattice Boltzmann model with a double distribution functions are used to simulate thermal vapor-liquid two-phase flow. In this model, the single component multi-phase lattice Boltzmann model proposed
Lattice Boltzmann method simulation on the flow of two immiscible fluids in complex geometry
The multicomponent nonideal gas lattice Boltzmann model by Shan and Chen (S-C) can be used to simulate the immiscible fluid flow. In this paper, we show that the relaxation constant τ ≤ 1 is a
Evaluation of Two Lattice Boltzmann Models for Multiphase Flows
Two lattice Boltzmann models for multiphase flows, the immiscible fluid model proposed by Rothman and Keller (RÂ?K) and the multicomponent nonideal gas lattice Boltzmann model by Shan and Chen
Lattice Boltzmann model for simulating immiscible two-phase flows
The lattice Boltzmann equation is often promoted as a numerical simulation tool that is particularly suitable for predicting the flow of complex fluids. This paper develops a two-dimensional
