Synopsis This study examines the origin and significance of spectacular bedrock channel forms and sedimentary sequences in the Ochil Hills, central Scotland. Channels and terraces form a discontinuous system extending 4 km from the main Forth valley into central Glen Devon via Glen Quey. It is suggested that as the Ochil Hills emerged above the Late Devensian ice sheet, large amounts of glacial meltwater flowed into the ice free area mainly from the margins of the Forth valley glacier… CONTINUE READING
