We report observation of holographic surface relief gratings with relatively large amplitude on a second order nonlinear optical polymeric material. Surface relief gratings on these polymer films were created upon exposure to polarized Ar+ laser beams at 488 nm without any subsequent processing steps. The surface structure of the relief gratings was investigated by atomic force microscopy. The depth of the surface relief in a typical case was 120 nm which is approximately 20% of the original…

Photo‐fabrication of surface relief gratings on polymer films

Surface relief gratings were optically produced on a number of azobenzene-based polymer films. The surface grating formation was investigated by monitoring the diffraction efficiency and using atomic

Interferometric inscription of surface relief gratings on optical fiber using azo polymer film

We report the fabrication and characteristics of surface relief grating on the end surface of silica optical fiber with a diameter of 125 μm. One- and two-dimensional gratings were inscribed on the

Polymeric wavelength filters fabricated using holographic surface relief gratings on azobenzene-containing polymer films

Polymeric wavelength filters with Bragg gratings have been fabricated using holographic surface relief gratings on azobenzene polymer films. In order to fabricate Bragg gratings on polymer

Surface relief gratings on polymer dispersed liquid crystalsby polarization holography

We report the observation of surface relief gratings (SRGs) on polymer dispersed liquid crystal films after polarization holographic recording, demonstrating the formation of SRGs in systems without

Experimental studies of surface relief gratings on polymer Films

We report our investigation on the recording of surface relief gratings on azobenzene containing polymer films by laser beams with different polarizations. Experimental evidence shows that it is

Surface relief gratings on azo polymer films through reversible photoisomerization by the irradiation of a monochromatic light

Surface relief gratings were induced on azobenzene-functionalized polymer films by exposure to s-polarized and circularly polarized Ar+-laser (488-nm) irradiation through a photomask. The surface

Fabrication of Surface Relief Grating with Second-Order Nonlinearity Using Urethane-Urea Copolymer Films

Surface relief gratings on azobenzene-substituted urethane-urea copolymer films with large second-order nonlinearity are fabricated by a laser-interferometric method. The surface relief structures

Generation of surface relief hologram and nano structure on azobenzen polymer films and its numerical analysis by moving particle method

Surface relief holograms are fabricated by means of irradiation of laser interference patterns. The diffraction efficiency and the surface relief depth depend on the writing energy and the

Holographic Recording and Control of Diffraction Efficiency Using Photoinduced Surface Deformation on Azo-Polymer Films

Surface relief holograms were fabricated on azo-polymer films by the irradiation of interference laser fringes. The side-chain azo-polymer, poly-orange tom-1 isophoronediisocyanate, was used in this

Unusual Polarization Dependent Optical Erasure of Surface Relief Gratings on Azobenzene Polymer Films.

Direct formation of surface relief gratings at modest intensities on azobenzene polymers has recently been accomplished. Unusual optical erasure of these surface relief gratings was observed. It is
