The crude leaf extracts of Abutilon indicum were evaluated for larvicidal, pupal deformities and adult emergence inhibition activity against vector mosquitoes viz., Aedes aegypti, Anopheles stephensi and Culex quinquefasciatus. Larvicidal activity was carried out using WHO protocol. Hexane extract with LC 50 value of 261.31 ppm after a period of 24 hr was found to be effective against Aedes aegypti larvae. Larval and pupal development was arrested resulting in decreased pupal transformation and…

Larvicidal activity of Scutellaria violacea (Lamiaceae) leaf extracts against three important human vector mosquitoes: Aedes aegypti, Anopheles stephensi and Culex quinquefasciatus (Diptera: Culicidae) from Tamil Nadu, India
TLDR
The results suggested that the leaf extracts of S. violacea showed potential to be used as an ideal ecofriendly approach for the control of the A. aegypti, A. stephensi and C. quinquefasciatus mosquito species.
PUPICIDAL ACTIVITY AND MORPHOLOGICAL DEFORMITIES OF JUSTICIA ADHATODA LEAF EXTRACTS AGAINST FILARIAL VECTOR, CULEX QUINQUEFASCIATUS AND DENGUE VECTOR, AEDES AEGYPTI
TLDR
From the results it can be concluded the crude extract of J. adhatoda was an excellent potential for controlling C. aegypti mosquitoes and among four solvent tested the methanol and petroleum ether extracts were most effective.
Evaluation of Solanum trilobatum L. (Solanaceae) aerial extracts for mosquito larvicidal activity against the filarial vector Culex quinquefasciatus Say (Diptera: Culicidae)
TLDR
Crude petroleum ether, chloroform, and acetone aerial extracts of Solanum trilobatum were tested for larvicidal activity against the filarial vector, Culex quinquefasciatus and results indicated that petroleum ether exhibited highest larv suicidal activity and LC50 values was 203.87 and 165.04.
Larvicidal Efficacy of Jasminum sp. (Oleaceae) Flower Extracts against theDengue and Chikungunya Vector Aedes aegypti L. (Diptera: Culicidae)
TLDR
Investigations are needed to elucidate the larvicidal activity of Jasminum grandiflorum crude chloroform flower extract against a wide range of all stages of mosquito species and also the active ingredient(s) of the extract responsible for larv suicidal activity should be identified.
Insecticidal Activities of the Essential Oil of Aegle marmelos (Linnaeus, 1800) against Aedes aegypti (Linnaeus, 1762) and Culex quinquefasciatus (Say, 1823)
TLDR
The GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of β- terpinyl acetate, 5- isopropenyl-2- methyl-7-oxabicyclo and 2,3-pinanediol as major probable constituents of the oil which might play major role against insecticidal activities of the plant oil.
The essential oil of Lippia alba Mill (Lamiales:Verbenaceae) as mosquitocidal and repellent agent against Culex quinquefasciatus Say (Diptera: Culicidae) and Aedes aegypti Linn (Diptera: Culicidae)
TLDR
The outcomes of this study clearly indicated that the essential oil of L. alba has the potentiality to act more effectively as a repellent, followed by a larvicidal agent against mosquito and at the same time the results revealed differential vulnerability of different mosquito species and their life stages against a particular plant essential oil.
Callistemon citrinus (Myrtaceae) methanolic leaf extract: a potent mosquitocidal agent for controlling dengue vector mosquito Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae)
TLDR
The current results were considered promising to proceed in studying the bioactive plants which represent an environmentally sound alternative for the synthetic insecticides.
IGR Activity of Three Indigenous Plants belonging to Asteraceae Family and its Potential Role on Control of Filarial Vector, Culex quinquefasciatusSay (Diptera: Culicidae)
TLDR
The present study highlights the importance of plantbased materials and their efficacy to control the mosquito vectors with special to Culex quinquefasciatus.
Laboratory evaluation of insecticidal activity of Adathoda vasica (Acanthaceae) and Glyricidia maculata (Leguminosae) on the third instar larvae of Oryctes rhinoceros L.(Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae)
TLDR
Both plants are promising for the control of O.rhinoceros by causing mortality, disrupting development and also by causing deformities.

TLDR
The methanol extract of A. indica, being the most potent extract, had a significant effect on the life cycle of the vector, C. quinquefasciatus, and the growth index was considerably reduced.
Isolation and identification of mosquito larvicidal compound from Abutilon indicum (Linn.) Sweet
TLDR
Results of this study show that the petroleum ether extract of A. indicum may be considered as a potent source and β-sitosterol as a new natural mosquito larvicidal agent.
Insecticidal activity of extracts derived from different parts of the mangrove tree rhizophora mucronata (rhizophoraceae) lam. Against three arthropods
TLDR
The results indicate that R.mucronata is a potential source of botanical insecticides(s) and the bulk of the active compounds are sequestered in the bark, pith and stem wood with the least being found in the leaves.
Efficacy of two tropical plant extracts for the control of mosquitoes
TLDR
Experiments under laboratory and semi‐field conditions showed that the activity of the extracts persisted for up to 10 days, and inhibited 50% of the treated larvae from emerging as adults.
