Systematic identification of phosphoproteins is essential for understanding cellular signalling pathways since phosphorylation plays important roles in cellular regulation. Monoclonal antibody MPM-2 recognizes a discrete set of mitosis-specific phosphoproteins and constitutes a specific tool to investigate the significance of phosphorylation in cell cycle.
