BACKGROUND Radical nephrectomy with inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombectomy is the preferred treatment for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with IVC thrombus. However, IVC thrombectomy using a laparoscopic approach has not been reported for high-level thrombi.
