BACKGROUND & AIMS Aggressive fluid resuscitation is recommended for initial management of acute pancreatitis. We performed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the impact of a goal-directed fluid resuscitation protocol on systemic inflammation in patients with acute pancreatitis.
