It is found that the activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in blood of youth athletes (both male and female) at rest is lower than in blood of untrained subjects (control). This decrease in female athletes was nearly twice as pronounced as that in male athletes. Veloergometric load significantly increased the level of LGH; however, this increase was somewhat greater in male athletes.
