A partial, progressive loss of I-compounds (age-dependent, putative indigenous DNA modifications) has been observed recently during hepatocarcinogenesis induced in rats by 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin, choline-devoid diet or peroxisome proliferators.
