En este trabajo realizamos una detallada revision de los estudios empiricos en los que examinamos el efecto de la participacion en programas de capacitacion en el desempeno de los trabajadores en el mercado laboral. Asimismo discutimos los efectos estimados para distintos grupos socioeconomicos y demograficos (por edad, genero, raza, nivel educacional), senalando ademas la estrategia de identificacion utilizada en cada caso.
