A complete census of wide visual companions to nearby G-dwarf stars can be achieved by selecting candidates from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) Point-Source Catalog and checking their status by second-epoch imaging. Such data are obtained for 124 candidates with separations up to 20'', 47 of which are shown to be new physical low-mass stellar companions. A list of visual binaries with G-dwarf primaries is produced by combining newly found companions with historical data. Maximum… Expand
FROM BINARIES TO MULTIPLES. I. DATA ON F AND G DWARFS WITHIN 67 pc OF THE SUN
Data on the multiplicity of F- and G-type dwarf stars within 67 pc of the Sun are presented. This distance-limited sample based on the Hipparcos catalog contains 4847 primary stars (targets) with 0.5Expand
Overlooked wide companions of nearby F stars
AIMS: We checked a sample of 545 F stars within 50 pc for wide companions using existing near-infrared and optical sky surveys. METHODS: Applying the common proper motion (CPM) criterion, we detectedExpand
WIDE COMPANIONS TO HIPPARCOS STARS WITHIN 67 PC OF THE SUN
A catalog of common-proper-motion (CPM) companions to stars within 67 pc of the Sun is constructed based on the SUPERBLINK proper-motion survey. It contains 1392 CPM pairs with angular separationsExpand
CARMENES input catalogue of M dwarfs - II. High-resolution imaging with FastCam
Aims. We search for low-mass companions of M dwarfs and characterize their multiplicity fraction with the purpose of helping in the selection of the most appropriate targets for the CARMENESExpand
A survey of the high order multiplicity of nearby solar-type binary stars with Robo-AO
We conducted a survey of nearby binary systems composed of main sequence stars of spectral types F and G in order to improve our understanding of the hierarchical nature of multiple star systems.Expand
From Binaries to Multiples. II. Hierarchical Multiplicity of F and G Dwarfs
Statistics of hierarchical multiplicity among solar-type dwarfs are studied using the distance-limited sample of 4847 targets presented in the accompanying Paper I. Known facts about binariesExpand
The population of white dwarf-main sequence binaries in the SDSS DR 12
We present a Monte Carlo population synthesis study of white dwarf-main sequence (WD+MS) binaries in the Galactic disc aimed at reproducing the ensemble properties of the entire population observedExpand
Stellar multiplicity and debris discs: an unbiased sample
Circumstellar dust disks have been observed around many nearby stars. However, many stars are part of binary or multiple stellar systems. A natural question arises regarding the presence andExpand
MAPPING THE SHORES OF THE BROWN DWARF DESERT. II. MULTIPLE STAR FORMATION IN TAURUS-AURIGA
We have conducted a high-resolution imaging study of the Taurus-Auriga star-forming region in order to characterize the primordial outcome of multiple star formation and the extent of the brown dwarfExpand
The VLT/NaCo large program to probe the occurrence of exoplanets and brown dwarfs in wide orbits - I. Sample definition and characterization
Context. Young, close stars are ideal targets for searching planets using the direct imaging technique. The determination of stellar parameters is crucial for the interpretation of imaging surveyExpand

Common Proper Motion Companions to Nearby Stars: Ages and Evolution
A set of 41 nearby stars (closer than 25 pc) is investigated which have very wide binary and common proper motion (CPM) companions at projected separations between 1000 and 200,000 AU. TheseExpand
SUBSYSTEMS IN NEARBY SOLAR-TYPE WIDE BINARIES
We conducted a deep survey of resolved subsystems among wide binaries with solar-type components within 67 pc of the Sun. Images of 61 stars in the K and H bands were obtained with the Near-InfraredExpand
A SURVEY OF STELLAR FAMILIES: MULTIPLICITY OF SOLAR-TYPE STARS

Ten low mass companions from the Keck precision velocity survey
Ten new companions have emerged from the Keck precision Doppler velocity survey, with minimum (M sin i) masses ranging from 0.8 MJUP to 0.34 M☉. Five of these are planet candidates with M sin i < 12Expand
