We start from a Lorentz noninvariant Abelian-Higgs model in 1+3 dimensions, and carry out its dimensional reduction to D = 1+2. The planar model resulting thereof is composed by a Maxwell—Chern—Simons–Proca gauge sector, a massive scalar sector, and a mixing term (involving the fixed background, vμ) that realizes Lorentz violation for the reduced model. Vortex-type solutions of the planar model are investigated, revealing charged vortex configurations that recover the usual Nielsen–Olesen…

Lorentz symmetry breaking and planar effects from non-linear electrodynamics

We propose a modification of standard linear electrodynamics in four dimensions, where effective non-trivial interactions of the electromagnetic field with itself and with matter fields induce

Magnetic moment generation from non-minimal couplings in a scenario with Lorentz-symmetry violation

AbstractThis paper deals with situations that illustrate how the violation of Lorentz symmetry in the gauge sector may contribute to magnetic moment generation of massive neutral particles with spin-

The photino sector and a confining potential in a supersymmetric Lorentz-symmetry-violating model

We study the spectrum of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Carroll–Field–Jackiw model for Electrodynamics with a topological Chern–Simons-like Lorentz-symmetry violating term. We identify a

NONRELATIVISTIC ELECTRON–ELECTRON INTERACTION IN A MAXWELL–CHERN–SIMONS–PROCA MODEL ENDOWED WITH A TIMELIKE LORENTZ-VIOLATING BACKGROUND

A planar Maxwell–Chern–Simons–Proca model endowed with a Lorentz-violating background is taken as framework to investigate the electron–electron interaction. The Dirac sector is introduced exhibiting

CPT and Lorentz violation effects in hydrogenlike atoms

Within the framework of Lorentz-violating extended electrodynamics, the Dirac equation for a bound electron in an external electromagnetic field is considered assuming the interaction with a CPT-odd

Relativistic scalar Aharonov–Bohm effect for a neutral particle under Lorentz symmetry breaking effects in the cosmic string space–time

We search for relativistic quantum phases for a Dirac neutral particle with a permanent magnetic dipole moment in the cosmic string space–time under the effects of the violation of the Lorentz

Quantum aspects of the Lorentz symmetry violation on an electron in a nonuniform electric field

By focusing on the interface between quantum field theory and nonrelativistic quantum mechanics, based on a theory that goes beyond the Standard Model, we consider the hypothesis of having a

Bumblebee field in a Topological Framework

A vector field coming from spontaneous Lorentz violation mechanism, namely Bumblebee model is analysed in a topological framework in a $(1+2)D$ Minkowski space-time. Taking a $(1+2)D$ nonlinear

Dimensional reduction of the Abelian Higgs Carroll-Field-Jackiw model

Abstract.Taking as a starting point a Lorentz non-invariant abelian Higgs model defined in 1 + 3 dimensions, we carry out its dimensional reduction to D = 1 + 2, obtaining a new planar model composed

Classical solutions in a Lorentz violating Maxwell-Chern-Simons electrodynamics

We take as starting point the planar model arising from the dimensional reduction of the Maxwell Electrodynamics with the (Lorentz-violating) Carroll-Field-Jackiw term. We then write and study the

Dimensional reduction of a Lorentz- and CPT-violating Maxwell-Chern-Simons model

Taking as a starting point a Lorentz and CPT noninvariant Chern-Simons-like model defined in $1+3$ dimensions, we proceed to realize its dimensional reduction to $D=1+2.$ One then obtains a new

Aspects of causality and unitarity and comments on vortexlike configurations in an Abelian model with a Lorentz-breaking term

The gauge-invariant Chern-Simons-type Lorentz- and CPT-breaking term is here reassessed and a spin-projector method is adopted to account for the breaking (vector) parameter. Issues like causality,

The voltage generated by moving ballistic vortices with a mass in a two-dimensional superconducting ring is quantized, and this quantization depends on the amount of charge enclosed by the ring.

Charged vortices in high temperature superconductors.

It is argued that in the mixed state of a type II superconductor, because of the difference of the chemical potential in a superconducting versus normal state, the vortex cores may become charged.

Question of the nonlocality of the Aharonov-Casher effect.

The Aharanov-Casher effect is manifested in a (2+1)-dimensional model that screens the electromagnetic fields, in order to demonstrate that the effect is essentially nonlocal in its nature. The

Topological Quantum Effects for Neutral Particles

We derive the effective Lagrangian which describes the interaction between a charged particle and a magnetic moment in the nonrelativistic limit. It is shown that neutral particles with a magnetic
