Rats fed a high fructose diet display disturbances in insulin action and form an animal model of insulin resistance. We investigated the impact of L-carnitine administration (300 mg/kg body weight/day, i.p. in 0.89% saline) on lipid peroxidation and antioxidant potential in blood of fructoseinduced insulin resistant rats.
