In the last months the use of wood in Germany has been clearly increased. Wood from short rotation plantations of fast growing tree spe- cies (e. g. poplar and willows) can be an enlargement for the wood market. Base for an economic useful business of short rotation plantations are suf- ficient water and nutrient supply. If these conditions are fulfilled, positive profit contributions can be already obtained within a 4-years rotation.
