We study the stability of Kitaev quasiparticles in the presence of a perturbing Heisenberg interaction as a Fock space localization phenomenon. We identify parameter regimes where Kitaev states are localized, fractal, or delocalized in the Fock space of exact eigenstates, with the first two implying quasiparticle stability. Finite-temperature calculations show that a vison gap, and a nonzero plaquette Wilson loop at low temperatures, both characteristic of the deconfined Kitaev spin-liquid… Expand

The novel JEV RT-NASBA assay could be used as an efficient molecular biology tool to diagnose JEV, which would facilitate the surveillance of reproductive failure disease in swine and would be beneficial for public health security. Expand
Emergence of a field-driven U(1) spin liquid in the Kitaev honeycomb model
Hickey and Trebst show that magnetic fields can destabilize the well-known gapped Kitaev spin liquid and induce a new gapless spin liquid, with a distinct gauge structure and neutral Fermi surface, at intermediate field strengths. Expand
Enhanced thermal Hall effect in the square-lattice Néel state
Common wisdom about conventional antiferromagnets is that their low-energy physics is governed by spin–wave excitations. However, recent experiments on several cuprate compounds have challenged thisExpand
Magnetic anisotropy of the alkali iridate Na2IrO3 at high magnetic fields: Evidence for strong ferromagnetic Kitaev correlations
The magnetic-field response of the Mott-insulating honeycomb iridate ${\mathrm{Na}}_{2}{\mathrm{IrO}}_{3}$ is investigated using torque magnetometry measurements in magnetic fields up to 60 T. AExpand

QuSpin: a Python package for dynamics and exact diagonalisation of quantum many body systems. Part II: bosons, fermions and higher spins
We present a major update to QuSpin, SciPostPhys.2.1.003 – an open-source Python package for exact diagonalization and quantum dynamics of arbitrary boson, fermion and spin many-body systems,Expand
Quantum spin liquid at finite temperature: Proximate dynamics and persistent typicality
Quantum spin liquids are long-range entangled states of matter with emergent gauge fields and fractionalized excitations. While candidate materials, such as the Kitaev honeycomb ruthenate α-RuCl3,Expand
