Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) is a haematological malignancy with a continuing rise in incidence in the United Kingdom. The unknown cause may be attributable to changes in environmental risk factors. Various explanations have been proposed including a dysfunctioning immune system, occupational exposure to pesticides or rural residence, but so far no clear causal factors are forthcoming.
