We present cosmological constraints from a cosmic shear analysis of the fourth data release of the Kilo-Degree Survey (KiDS-1000), doubling the survey area with nine-band optical and near-infrared photometry with respect to previous KiDS analyses. Adopting a spatially flat $\Lambda$CDM model, we find $S_8 = \sigma_8 (\Omega_{\rm m}/0.3)^{0.5} = 0.759^{+0.024}_{-0.021}$ for our fiducial analysis, which is in $3\sigma$ tension with the prediction of the Planck Legacy analysis of the cosmic… Expand
Cannibalism hinders growth: Cannibal Dark Matter and the S8 tension
Many models of dark matter have been proposed in attempt to ease the $S_8$ tension between weak lensing and CMB experiments. One such exciting possibility is cannibalistic dark matter (CanDM), whichExpand
Quantum Fisher Cosmology: confronting observations and the trans-Planckian problem
The aim of Quantum Fisher Cosmology is to use the quantum Fisher information about pure de Sitter states to derive model independent observational consequences of the existence of a primordial phaseExpand
Exploring an early dark energy solution to the Hubble tension with Planck and SPTPol data
A promising idea to resolve the long standing Hubble tension is to postulate a new subdominant dark-energy-like component in the pre-recombination Universe which is traditionally termed as the EarlyExpand
Assessing tension metrics with dark energy survey and Planck data
Quantifying tensions -- inconsistencies amongst measurements of cosmological parameters by different experiments -- has emerged as a crucial part of modern cosmological data analysis.Expand
Consistency of cosmic shear analyses in harmonic and real space
Recent cosmic shear studies have reported discrepancies of up to $1\sigma$ on the parameter ${S_{8}=\sigma_{8}\sqrt{\Omega_{\rm m}/0.3}}$ between the analysis of shear power spectra and two-pointExpand
Cross-correlating radio continuum surveys and CMB lensing: constraining redshift distributions, galaxy bias, and cosmology
We measure the harmonic-space auto-power spectrum of the galaxy overdensity in the LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) First Data Release and its cross correlation with the map of the lensingExpand
Dark energy survey year 3 results: weak lensing shape catalogue
We present and characterise the galaxy shape catalogue from the first 3 years of Dark Energy Survey (DES) observations, over an effective area of ~4143 deg$^2$ of the southern sky. We describe ourExpand
Intrinsic Alignments in IllustrisTNG and their implications for weak lensing: Tidal shearing and tidal torquing mechanisms put to the test
Accurate measurements of the cosmic shear signal require a separation of the true weak gravitational lensing signal from intrinsic shape correlations of galaxies. These `intrinsic alignments' ofExpand
Strong detection of the CMB lensing and galaxy weak lensing cross-correlation from ACT-DR4, Planck Legacy, and KiDS-1000
We measure the cross-correlation between galaxy weak lensing data from the Kilo Degree Survey (KiDS-1000, DR4) and cosmic microwave background (CMB) lensing data from the Atacama Cosmology TelescopeExpand
Constraining cosmology with weak lensing voids
Upcoming galaxy surveys such as LSST and Euclid are expected to significantly improve the power of weak lensing as a cosmological probe. In order to maximise the information that can be extractedExpand
