[The Black Sea fauna has been studied for a long time, whence the adult crabs of this region are rather well known. However, not enough attention has been paid to their larval development. Despite the extensive literature concerning the order Decapoda pertaining to the Black Sea, there is no key for the identification of the brachyuran larvae. This work aims to fill that gap. There are 20 species of crabs in the Black Sea, belonging to 7 families: Cancridae with 1 species: Cancer pagurus L…
Illustrated key for the identification of brachyuran zoeal stages (Crustacea: Decapoda) in the plankton of Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan)
TLDR
A dichotomous identification key for brachyuran zoeal stages from Peter the Great Bay (Russian waters of the Sea of Japan) is provided for the first time and uses only the most conspicuous external characters of larvae that are easy to observe under a stereomicroscope without specimens dissection.
Comparative morphology of the first zoea of twelve brachyuran species (Crustacea: Decapoda) from the Amazon region
TLDR
The laboratory-hatched first zoeal stage of twelve brachyuran species collected in the estuarine area of the Caete River in the Amazonian region are described and illustrated and an identification key was generated and provided.
Morphological differentiation of megalopae in the family Panopeidae Ortmann, 1893, from a lagoon system inlet in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico
TLDR
The megalopa stage was obtained from the artificial inlet of the Camaronera Lagoon, Veracruz, Mexico, and six species of this family were identified: Panopeus herbstii, P. lacustris, Dyspanopeus texanus, Neopanope packardii, Eurypanopes depressus, and Hexapanopeus angustifrons.
Oceanographic mechanisms that possibly explain dominance of neritic-tropical zooplankton species assemblages around the Islas Marías Archipelago, Mexico
TLDR
The similarity of multiple neritic and tropical species in the zooplankton assemblage from IMA and Cape Corrientes suggests strong coastal-insular plankton connectivity in this region.
Taxonomic composition and interannual variations in numerical density of meroplankton in the Sea of Azov

TLDR
Under anthropogenic stress and predation pressure, most larvae of benthic invertebrates are apparently unable to complete metamorphosis and contribute to recruitment to parental populations, so the numerical density of meroplankton in the Sea of Azov can significantly vary, even over one month.
Developing imaging techniques for studying brachyuran crab zoeae and adult morphology of gonopods with an emphasis on the invasive Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis
TLDR
This book presents a meta-analysis of the determinants of infectious disease in eight operation rooms and its effects on the immune systems of eight patients and three of them were women.
