Quintessential inflation utilises a single scalar field to account for the observations of both cosmic inflation and dark energy. The requirements for modelling quintessential inflation are described and two explicit successful models are presented in the context of α-attractors and Palatini modified gravity.

An analytic treatment of quartic hilltop inflation
Abstract Quartic hilltop inflation remains one of the most successful inflationary models. Yet, the expectations of early treatments of hilltop inflation would contradict the observations and renderExpand

Planck2018 results
We report on the implications for cosmic inflation of the 2018 release of thePlanckcosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy measurements. The results are fully consistent with those reportedExpand
Ricci reheating

We present a model for viable gravitational reheating involving a scalar field directly coupled to the Ricci curvature scalar. Crucial to the model is a period of kination after inflation, whichExpand
Warm Little Inflaton becomes dark energy

Abstract We present a model where the inflaton field behaves like quintessence at late times, generating the present phase of accelerated expansion. This is achieved within the framework of warmExpand

Abstract We introduce warm quintessential inflation and study it in the weak dissipative regime. We consider the original quintessential inflation model, which approximates quartic chaotic inflationExpand

Over the last few years, a large family of cosmological attractor models has been discovered, which can successfully match the latest inflation-related observational data. Many of these models canExpand
Non-minimal gravitational reheating during kination

A new mechanism is presented which can reheat the Universe in non-oscillatory models of inflation, where the inflation period is followed by a period dominated by the kinetic density for the inflatonExpand
Quintessential Inflation with $\alpha$-attractors
• Physics

A novel approach to quintessential inflation model building is studied, within the framework of $\alpha$-attractors, motivated by supergravity theories. Inflationary observables are in excellentExpand
