A novel actinomycete strain, YIM 61503T, isolated from the stem of Maytenus austroyunnanensis, was characterized by using a polyphasic approach. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain YIM 61503T belonged to the genus Jiangella and exhibited 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities of 98.8 and 98.6% to Jiangella alkaliphila D8-87T and Jiangella gansuensis YIM 002T. The chemotaxonomic properties of strain YIM 61503T were consistent with those of the genus Jiangella…

Strain NEAU-YY265T was phenotypically distinct from recognized Jiangella species and shown to belong to a separate genomic species based on DNA-DNA hybridization results, and is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Jiangeella.

Jiangella endophytica sp. nov., an endophytic actinomycete isolated from the rhizome of Kaempferia elegans.

An endophytic actinobacterium isolated from surface-sterilised rhizome of Kaempferia elegans should be recognised as a novel species of genus Jiangella, for which the name Jiangelloendophytica sp.

Jiangella mangrovi sp. nov., isolated from mangrove soil.

Data from phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and molecular analyses indicate that strain 3SM4-07T is a representative of a novel species of the genus Jiangella, for which the name Jiangeella mangrovi sp.

Genome-based classification of three novel actinobacteria from the Karakum Desert: Jiangella asiatica sp. nov., Jiangella aurantiaca sp. nov. and Jiangella ureilytica sp. nov.

Three isolates, 5K138T, 8K307T and KC603T, with typical morphological characteristics of members of the genus Jiangella were obtained during a study searching for novel actinobacteria with biosynthetic potential from the Karakum Desert, and should each be classified as representing a novel species.

Haloactinopolyspora alba gen. nov., sp. nov., a halophilic filamentous actinomycete isolated from a salt lake, with proposal of Jiangellaceae fam. nov. and Jiangellineae subord. nov.

Phylogenetic analysis placed the genus Jiangella together with strain YIM 93246(T) within the order Actinomycetales as an independent lineage, clearly distinguished from other described suborders of the class Actinobacteria.

Phytoactinopolyspora endophytica gen. nov., sp. nov., a halotolerant filamentous actinomycete isolated from the roots of Glycyrrhiza uralensis F.

A novel species of a new genus, Phytoactinopolyspora endophytica gen. nov., sp.nov, is proposed based on morphological, physiological and chemotaxonomic data and numerous phenotypic differences.

Jiangella anatolica sp. nov. isolated from coastal lake soil

Based upon the consensus of phenotypic and phylogenetic analyses as well as whole genome comparisons, strain GTF31T is proposed to represent the type strain of a novel species, Jiangella anatolica sp.

On the basis of morphological, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic characteristics and DNA-DNA hybridization data, strain EGI 80088(T) represents a novel species of the genus Haloactinopolyspora, for which the name Haloact inopolysporiasis alkaliphila sp.

Genome sequence and comparative analysis of Jiangella alba YIM 61503T isolated from a medicinal plant Maytenus austroyunnanensis

The results suggested that J. alba YIM 61503T could be a potential strain for further genome mining studies, and detection of phosphotransferase genes in the genome of all Jiangella species indicated that they can uptake and phosphorylate sugars.

Phytoactinopolyspora alkaliphila sp. nov., an alkaliphilic actinomycete isolated from a saline-alkaline soil.

Based on morphological, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic characteristics, strain EGI 80629T represents a novel species of the genus Phy toactinopolyspora, for which the name Phytoactinpolyspora alkaliphila sp.

On the basis of the phenotypic and DNA-DNA hybridization data presented, strain D8-87T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Jiangella, for which the name Jiangeella alkaliphila is proposed.

Georgenia ruanii sp. nov., a novel actinobacterium isolated from forest soil in Yunnan (China), and emended description of the genus Georgenia.

A Gram-positive, motile, short-rod-shaped strain, isolated from a forest-soil sample collected from Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China, and was investigated using a polyphasic taxonomic approach represents a novel species of the genus Georgenia, for which the nameGeorgenia ruanii sp.

Glycomyces endophyticus sp. nov., an endophytic actinomycete isolated from the root of Carex baccans Nees.

Phenotypic and chemotaxonomic data supported the affiliation of this strain to the genus Glycomyces, and the results of DNA-DNA hybridization and some physiological and biochemical tests allowed differentiation of the strain from related GlycomYces species.

Jiangella gansuensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel actinomycete from a desert soil in north-west China.

Phylogenetic analysis and signature nucleotide data based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain YIM 002(T) is distinct from all recognized genera of the family Nocardioidaceae in the suborder Propionibacterineae.

Streptomyces jietaisiensis sp. nov., isolated from soil in northern China.
