We characterize the jammed state structure of the random sequential adsorption of segments of two different sizes on a line. To this end, we define the size ratio as a dimensionless quantity measuring the length of the large segments in terms of the smaller ones. We introduce a truncated exponential as an ansatz for the probability distribution function of the interparticle distance at the jammed state and use it to calculate the first four cumulants of the probability distribution function…

Exact results for the jammed state of binary mixtures of superdisks on the plane

- Mathematics

By analytical and numerical methods we investigate the late stage deposition of binary mixtures of oriented “superdisks” on a plane. Superdisks are objects bounded by Lame curves |x|2p+|y|2p=1, where…

The paper concentrates on measuring the jamming coverage for different values of k-mer size and number of layers n, and finds that the percolation probability vanishes as L increases, being zero in the limit L→∞.

The correlation hole is investigated-the depletion of correlation functions near contact and, for the present model, their vanishing at contact-that opens up at finite times, as well as its closing and reemergence of the logarithmic divergence of correlation properties at contact in the large-time limit.

The present work observed that at low size ratios the jamming state is constituted by short streaks of small and large segments, while at high values of the size ratio theJamming state structure is formed by long streaks ofSmall segments separated by a single large segment, supported by the various measured quantities.
