The search for metabolites of Kibdelosporangium sp. AK-AA56 resulted in the discovery of novel N-phenylacetylated peptides, JBIR-78 (1) and JBIR-95 (2). Compounds 1 and 2 were established to be N-phenylacetylated heptapeptides by extensive NMR and HRESIMS analyses. The absolute configuration of the standard amino acids including a cysteic acid moiety was determined using Marfey's method on the acid hydrolysates of 1 and 2. The relative and absolute configurations of a nonstandard amino acid… Expand

N-Phenylacetylation and Nonribosomal Peptide Synthetases with Substrate Promiscuity for Biosynthesis of Heptapeptide Variants, JBIR-78 and JBIR-95.
Heterologous expression of the biosynthetic gene cluster including genes encoding nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS) and in vitro assays with recombinant Orf3 suggested the single A domain in module 2 activates both l-Asp and l-cysteic acid to yield 1 and 2, although the substrate specificities of the A domains of NRPSs are usually strict. Boseongazepines A-C, pyrrolobenzodiazepine derivatives from a Streptomyces sp. 11A057.
Three new pyrrolobenzodiazepine derivatives, boseongazepines A-C (1-3), were isolated from a culture broth of Streptomyces sp. 11A057, together with the known compound usabamycin B (4). TheExpand
Viennamycins: Lipopeptides Produced by a Streptomyces sp.
Tests for antibacterial, antifungal, and cytotoxic activities of purified viennamycins did not reveal any bioactivity, suggesting that their biological function, which could not be determined in the tests used, is atypical for lipopeptides. Expand
