Recently a model-free Iterative Feedback Tuning (IFT) scheme has been proposed for nonlinear plants and/or controllers; we refer the reader to 3, 8] for more details. This iterative control strategy only uses closed loop data. In this paper, we examine the applicability of IFT for the tuning of a nonlinear controller for an inverted pendulum with a exible transmission.
